Fall Kickoff is September 13! Watch for more info about this fall’s Season of Creation, God’s World for Kids programming, Saturday Fun & Games, and our Kickoff Barbecue.
We still have another month of summer to continue our meaningful worship, community engagement, and work for justice, and we invite you to come and see!
Worship
Our worship is focused on music, liturgy, preaching, and prayer lifting up the message of God’s overwhelming love and grace in a troubled world.
Recent Events
Making Meals for Open Cathedral
Christ Church continues to make 100 lunches for Open Cathedral on every 5th Thursday. We deliver them to the Mission for distribution after the evening service.
First Monthly Trash Pickup
We gathered for our first monthly trash pickup at McCoppin Park a few blocks from the church. We filled several bags with cigarette butts, wrappers, and more.
Marketing Campaign Highlights
Christ Church had our first Community Social, gathering with one of our building users, the South Sunset Ballroom Dance Team. We shared dances and music and enjoyed some great food! Thanks to Synod VP Simon Wong for joining us!
Joint Art Project
At our social, we shared some dreams for the future and found out that many of us long for peace.
Immigrant Support
Some of us gather to support immigrants waiting in line for their ICE appointments. We provide information on the process, offer food and coffee, and share chalk with the kids.
Interfaith Vigils
We recently joined an interfaith vigil in remembrance of those who have been killed by ICE agents and asking for better conditions for those in detention.
Receive this blessing from our seasonal bulletin:
Go now with your hope set on Christ. As children of God, let the Spirit of God lead you and let your righteousness shine like the sun until darkness and light are one.
And wherever you go, whether you scale the heavens or plunge to the depths, may God’s presence be inescapably with you; May Christ Jesus + welcome you into his inheritance; And may the Holy Spirit assure you that you are God’s children. Amen.
